Pregnant woman stabbed during Kentucky fight

A pregnant woman was hospitalized with a stab wound after police say she fought with another woman in Harlan County, Kentucky.

Police say the two women began arguing at a food stamps office on South Cumberland Avenue around noon on Tuesday. They say 21-year-old Ginger Pendleton pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the chest and stomach. She was arrested.

The victim is nine weeks pregnant and was flown to a hospital in Kingsport. Her condition and that of her fetus have not been released, but police say she was alert.

They say the argument started on Facebook.
