Rain reduces East Tennessee's wildfire danger

East Tennessee firefighters were thankful for the rain this weekend, after battling wildfires across the area the last couple of weeks.

Ten separate fires charred more than 750 acres in several counties before the rain started falling on Saturday. Ted Dailey, District Forester for the Tennessee Division of Forestry said we entered the weekend at a Level 5 for fire danger. Now, we are back at Level 1.

Burn permits are being issued once again.
