Runners brave cold for Autumnfest 8K

(WBIR, Knoxville) - Hundreds of people braved the below-freezing temperatures Thanksgiving morning to race in the Autumnfest 8K.

The Knoxville Track Club hosts the annual event.

There was an 8K run, a 2 mile walk, and a Little Gobbler run for the kids.

The 8K course started at World's Fair Park and took racers through the Old City.

"It's fun and we like running a lot. So it's fun to run on Thanksgiving with a bunch of other people. We sort of started a tradition. We do it every year, and it started 3 years ago so we just like to do it every year together," said Hannah and Ruthie Martin.

Hannah and Ruthie said the cold weather didn't bother them. In fact, they said they had on too many layers.
