Right now, buses have to be retired once they hit 200-thousand miles or after 17 years. The new bill extends that mileage, to 400-thousand miles.

Morgan County Schools pushed for the change. Leaders said they had to retire buses that were still working fine at a cost of $100-thousand dollars a bus.
