Local radio stations are teaming up to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee's fourth annual MAYDAY radiothon.
The fundraiser kicks off at 6 a.m. and runs until 7 p.m. Monday.
The stations aim to raise $200,000 for Second Harvest's "Food for Kids" programs. Second Harvest says that amount of money can provide over 266,000 meals.
Second Harvest distributes over 18 million pounds of food and grocery products each year in 18 counties across East Tennessee. One out of every five people in East Tennessee lives in poverty and has a hard time meeting basic needs, according to Second Harvest.
There are three ways to donate Monday.
1) By phone at 865-243-8227.
2) Online at secondharvestetn.org.
3) In person - you can head to the Second Harvest Food Bank at 136 Harvest Lane, in Maryville, and drop off a donation.
