Dolly honors Sevier Co. man for work with Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts of Sevier County honored a local man for his outstanding leadership and generosity with a little star power.

Dolly Parton honored her long-time friend and business partner Ted Miller at this year's Sevier County Good Scout Award Dinner.

Miller has worked with Dolly since Dollywood opened in 1986. Governor Bill Haslam was also there; he named Miller to a statewide tourism committee in 2011.

Miller says he values the friendships he has made over the years.

"I'm more than honored to be here tonight to accept this award but I think even more I'm humbled that this many friends would come to share it with me," he said.

Thursday's dinner serves as the kickoff for the 2014 Friends of Scouting campaign in Sevier County.
