Florida couple dead in murder-suicide at Sevier Co. cabin

A Florida couple is dead after what investigators are calling a murder-suicide at a Sevier County cabin.

According to Sheriff Ron Seals, someone called 911 from the home on Treehouse Lane Monday to report that two people had been shot.

When emergency crews arrived, they found Richard Crosby, 52, dead on the bedroom floor of a single gunshot wound. His wife, Genevieve Crosby, 48, was on the bed. She had been shot multiple times, but was still alive.

She was transported to a local hospital, but died before she arrived.

Investigators believe Mr. Crosby shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

The couple, from Tarpon Springs, Florida, was visiting East Tennessee with her parents and daughter.
