Sevierville heat treating plant catches fire

Crews from several agencies responded to a fire at a Sevierville business Thursday evening, according to the Sevier County Fire Department.

Firefighters say the fire started shortly after 9:30 p.m. at MMI Trutec Industries, a heat treating plant.

They say about 10 percent of the building was burned, and they brought in several units from all over the county, including Emergency Management.

Three people had to evacuate the building, but officials say no one was hurt.

Firefighters are still working to determine the cause of the fire. There is no concern about chemicals at this time.
