A Knox County deputy received minor injuries after he was involved in a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon.

According to KCSO, Lt. Greg Stinnett was driving north on Chapman Highway around 1:30 pm when a car driven by 74-year-old Earl Patterson ran into him. Investigators say Patterson was trying to turn from Chapman Highway into a parking lot when he failed to yield and hit the cruiser in the driver's side. The crash forced the cruiser over a curbed median, where it stopped.
