KPD identifies woman found dead near South Knox RR tracks

Update: An autopsy has been completed on a woman who was found dead near railroad tracks in south Knoxville Sunday.

Knoxville Police said the woman has been identified as Angela Miller, 49, of Knoxville.

The cause of death has still not been determined. KPD said it could be several weeks before the results of additional testsare back that will help in figuring out how she died.

The autopsy did not show any significant signs of trauma.

(WBIR) Knoxville police said a woman's body was found in south Knoxville Sunday morning.

A person reported to police that the body was near the train tracks close to 522 Maryville Pike shortly after 11 a.m. Officers said the body had apparent signs of trauma, and the death looks suspicious.

Officials transported the body to the forensics center for autopsy. They've identified the body, but aren't releasing the woman's name until her family is notified.
