Knoxville police have identified the man who drowned in a South Knoxville quarry on Friday.

Officials recovered Edward Dilbeck's body at about 5 a.m. Saturday, according to a Knoxville Police Department release.

The 50-year-old died after jumping from a 60-to-80 foot cliff into the quarry near Fort Dickerson Friday evening, said Knoxville police. Witnesses said they saw Dilbeck go underwater, resurface, and then go back underwater.

Authorities recovered his body using divers and a submersible robot.
