(WBIR) Sunday morning's storm created a close call for a Knoxville woman as a tree crashed onto her home.
Officials said it happened on Gilbert Lane in South Knoxville around 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
Knoxville Fire Department said a woman was home when the tree fell, but luckily she was in her bedroom on the opposite side of the house at the time of the incident. She was not hurt.
However, KFD said the home did suffer severe structural damage. The American Red Cross will be providing the woman with a temporary place to live.
In a statement, KFD spokesperson D.J. Corcoran reminded residents to keep trees located near homes trimmed, so heavy limbs don't pose a danger to roofs, or power lines.
