The mothers of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom took the stand on Tuesday afternoon.
Mary Newsom told the court she didn't know that her son used marijuana or amphetamines.
"You don't know where your son bought his marijuana do you?" Davidson's attorney Doug Trant asked Newsom. "I didn't know he smoked marijuana," she answered.
"You don't know where he bought his amphetamines," Trant continued. "I didn't know he took that either," Newsom answered.
Assistant District Attorney Takisha Fitzgerald also asked Deena Christian about Newsom's drug use.
"Did you know he smoked dope," Fitzgerald asked. "I did," Christian answered.
"What about adderall, did you know he took adderall," Fitzgerald continued. "I didn't know he did that but it doesn't surprise me," Christian answered.
Christian explained that people can get adderall just about anywhere. She went on to tell the court that her son Chase has been prescribed adderall and Channon took it when she was cramming for tests to help her focus.
Both mothers are disappointed in the direction the trial has taken.
"This is a murder trial," Christian said. "Channon and Chris were the ones that were murdered they shouldn't put the kids on trial."
"Those kids were totally innocent, completely innocent," Newsom said. "They're not the one who should be on trial right now. Davidson is the one who should be on trial right now."
Jury questionsThe jury questions kept coming on day 2 of the Davidson trial. One juror's question caused Judge Richard Baumgartner to clear the jury before he heard the answer.
Stacey Lawson is George Thomas' ex-girlfriend. She testified that she drove Thomas, Letalvis Cobbins and Vanessa Coleman from Lebanon, Kentucky to Davidson's house in Knoxville.
After her testimony, a juror asked if Lawson knew the crimes were going to happen and if that is why she left Davidson's house.
Lawson told the court that she didn't know the murders were going to happen and she left because Davidson pointed a gun at her.
Judge Baumgartner instructed her not to say that in front of the jury. She was only allowed to tell the jury that she left because she was uncomfortable.
The jury also asked Lawson what cigarettes the group smoked. She said Cobbins, Thomas and Coleman smoked Newport cigarettes. That is the brand of cigarettes found in Christian's SUV.
Fingerprint evidence
Knoxville Police fingerprint analyst Daniel Crenshaw took the stand again Tuesday morning to talk about Lemaricus Davidson's fingerprints.
Crenshaw told the court on Monday that he found Davidson's prints on Channon Christian's bank envelope in her SUV, her Blockbuster video rental card, her paystub, and on a photo Christian kept in her vehicle.
During cross-examination on Tuesday morning, Eldridge asked Crenshaw to point out that Davidson's fingerprints were not found on the two interior bags that held Christian's body and the white bag that covered her face. However, Crenshaw said he found Davidson's palm prints on the outer 3 bags used to wrap Christian's body.
Eldridge also questioned Crenshaw about an empty hydrocodone bottle in Christian's glove compartment. Crenshaw said he took a picture of it, but did not take it into evidence or fingerprint it.
The defense also had Crenshaw open up an envelope with a pill bottle in it.
Crenshaw read the bottle to the court to say that it was a prescription for alprazolam in Christian's name. Crenshaw said there were 8 white pills and one blue pill inside. The blue pill was a capsule with the word adderall on it.
Alparzolam is also known as xanex which is used to treat panic disorder. Adderall is used to treat attention deficit disorder.
Crenshaw told the court that they could not get fingerprints off the pills.
Eldridge went on to question the reliablility of fingerprint analysis and the expertise of Crenshaw.
Meanwhile the panel of 15 Knox County jurors appear to be attentive and inquisitive.
During the Letalvis Cobbins trial in August, the Nashville jury did not ask one question, not even during their deliberations.
However, in first day of Davidson's trial, jurors have already asked four questions. Not all of the questions have been read by the judge, but Judge Richard Baumgartner has assured the panel that future witnesses will answer their questions.
After Crenshaw finished testifying, two more jury questions were submitted. One question was about the date on Christian's paystub which the judge said the jurors will get to see later. The other question was to see if Crenshaw was positive the prints were Davidson's. He told them if he was not 100% sure he would not have identified it.
