Charges are pending after one man was killed in a Monroe County wreck.
The accident happened in Madisonville just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
John Michael Brooks, 65, of Letha, Idaho was driving south on Highway 68, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol. Troopers said his Mazda crossed the center line and hit an oncoming Mercury head-on. Authorities said the driver of that vehicle, William C. Kile, 76, of Sweetwater, was killed. Brooks and his passenger Carmen Brooks, 61, of Letha were both injured.
Kile wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
According to THP's report, Brooks is facing charges for failure to exercise due care.
