Land dispute leads to shooting in Claiborne County

Investigators with the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department are investigating a shooting tonight near Harrogate.

Captain David Honeycutt says the call came in to 911 around 6:45 pm Thursday night, that there had been a shooting on Regent Drive.

Honeycutt says that two neighbors who were in a land dispute confronted each other, that both men pulled weapons, and one man was shot in the chest and arm. Honeycutt says the victim was taken by Lifestar to UT Medical Center in stable condition.

No names are being released, and no charges have been filed.
