Garrett Willis was one of 25 Nationwide Tour players who secured a 2010 PGA TOUR card today at the season-ending Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island in Charleston, S.C. by finishing among the year's top-25 money winners.

The following are background and career details on Willis and a quote from him:

Birthplace:                                Charlotte, NC

Residence:                                Knoxville, TN

College:                                East Tennessee State University

Age:                                        35

Final Money List Position:                12th

Other 2009 Stats:                        One win (WNB Golf Classic) and nine top-25 finishes

PGA TOUR Experience:                Has played in 161 PGA TOUR events.  Won the 2001 Touchstone Energy Tucson Open.

Quote:                                        "It was devastating to miss my card by one shot at Q-School last year and to be able to come back out on the Nationwide Tour and earn my card the next year without having to go through the stress of Q-School again is fantastic.  I'm probably better mentally prepared for the PGA TOUR next year because I know how hard it was to get back out there again.  It's been a great year for me.  I've worked hard this year to get better in certain aspects of my game and I'm excited about the upcoming year."

The Nationwide Tour's 29-tournament season came to a pressure-packed conclusion today at the Ralston Creek course at the Daniel Island Club with Matt Every winning the $1 million Nationwide Tour Championship.

Willis did not play.
