A single-vehicle crash late Wednesday afternoon in west Knox County left a wife and mother dead.
Wednesday night, the Knox County Sheriff's Office identified the driver as 32-year-old Laura Ballance.
Emergency responders got the call to Bob Gray Road at Lovell Road at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday. Ballance's car was on its side.
Rural/Metro reported Ballance died on the scene.
Lifestar had been dispatched to the crash but was called off.
Investigators believe Ballance might have swerved to avoid an animal.
The crash happened close to Ballance's home, which is on Bob Gray Road.
The Sheriff's Office said Ballance is survived by her husband and son.
