Monroe Co. juvenile charged with trying to kill mother

 A Monroe County juvenile is charged with trying to kill his mother on Monday.

Deputies were called to Cherokee Circle in Madisonville where they found a woman who had been stabbed in the chest and arm.

They said she had been also been forced to swallow toxic substances and prescription medication. She was taken to the hospital and is being treated.

Her son was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Authorities haven't released the names of the suspect, victim or her condition.
