Wednesday, the Blount County Civil War Roundtable spent the day honoring veterans at an East Tennessee cemetery.
Last year the group decided to pay their respects to the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country by placing flags their graves. Today they continued that tradition at Grandview Cemetery.
The group's president Tom Davis says they raised enough money to place flags on over 400 headstones, covering just more than half of the sites at the cemetery.
"We've had a good response today while we were out here placing them. A lot of people came by, waved and honked. Some even stopped to say 'Thanks'." says Davis.
Davis says the group would love to continue their mission and finish placing flags on all sites at Grandview Cemetery and other graves around Blount County.
