After two weeks of the TSSAA football playoffs, the field has been narrowed considerably. Less than a dozen area teams are still playing and entertaining hopes of a state championship.
Several of those teams will be playing each other in another round of rematch games in the state quarterfinals.
Among the do-over games: Farragut at Maryville, Loudon at Alcoa and Harriman at Grace.
Maryville held off Farragut in a wild game on October 16, 35-32. It was the same night that Grace cruised by Harrimang 35-6. Two weeks later, Alcoa would blank Loudon 21-0. All those games will be replayed next Friday, with the winner moving to the semifinals, one win away from the state championship game.
