The United Way of Blount County has reached its $1.9 million goal for this campaign.
Campaign chairman John Hinkle told a crowd of about a hundred supporters on Friday that the United Way had raised $1,900,389 for Blount County.
That milestone makes them one of the first United Way chapters in East Tennessee to reach its campaign goal.
United Way of Greater Knoxville is still working to reach its goal. It has now raised 80.5% of its $11.8 million goal. The campaign ends December 18.
