Sunday marks the one year anniversary of Phillip Fulmer's final game as the Tennessee football head coach.
The team rallied behind Fulmer, pulling off a 28-10 victory against Kentucky before carrying their beloved coach off the field one last time. His 17 years at the helm have had a lasting impression on the Tennessee faithful.
"I've been around for a long time, and Fulmer's been the best football coach at Tennessee in my lifetime," Mark Siegel of Knoxville said.
Since his departure, Fulmer has stayed active in college football, working as an analyst for CBS sports, and appearing as himself opposite Sandra Bullock in the new film "The Blind Side".
Fulmer says his time away from the game has been fun. "I have enjoyed it very much. I've done a lot of things that I hadn't had time to do."
Fulmer's replacement, Lane Kiffin, has lead the Vols to a bowl eligible 6-5 record, nearly knocking off the first and second ranked teams in the country along the way.
"I think he's doing a real good job. He's got them to win and everything," Louis Bollinger of Campbell County said.
"I think he's doing real good for the defense and offense, and I think he's doing real good," Craig McGhee of Knoxville said.
No longer watching from the sidelines, Fulmer is pleased with the team's success as well. "They're making some strides, and certainly I care an awful lot about those kids and seeing them do well."
Fulmer says he would be happy to get back into coaching, provided it's with the right team.
"I'm looking for a place that's committed to winning, that's committed to having a physical support system in place that gives you a chance to be successful, and some history."
Multiple sources have told ESPN.com Fulmer is interested in the head coaching job at Louisville.
