
A Knox County teenager injured in a sledding accident on Friday remained in the hospital Sunday night, officials at UT Medical Center said. David Gusar, 14, of Kanuga Drive was sledding when he slid under the path of a truck. Gusar was listed in serious condition on Saturday, but he had since been moved to a different area of the hospital, according to a nursing administrator. The area where he was moved has different criteria for determining a patient's condition, so Gusar was listed in critical condtion Sunday evening even though his recovery remained the same. Previously A Knox County teenager is in the hospital after a sledding accident. The 14 year old was sledding at a neighbor's house on Kanuga Drive, around 5:45 Friday evening, according to Knox County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Martha Dooley. The boy was sledding on a trash bag in the driveway when he slid into the road, and into the path of a 1999 Toyota Tacoma truck. Investigators say the street was a solid sheet of ice at the time. The driver tried to stop, but couldn't. The teen was dragged for a short distance by the truck. The teen was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment. There is no word on his condition. The driver will not face any charges.
