Sally and Shawn Weimer have just returned from Jamaica, where they spent 9 days doing mission work. The Weimers rallied five families to make the trip, including the Pryors.
"We woke up every morning and and got on a bus and went to the top of the mountains," remembers Robbie Pryor. "That's where the Robin's Nest Orphanage was, and we worked until dark."
Sally and Shawn Weimer knew of their son Zach's love of Jamaica and the children at the orphanage. Zach Weimer was killed in a zipline accident in 2008.
Remembering their son's love for helping others and a mission trip to Jamaica, the Weimers decided that giving back would be his legacy.
The Weimers and the other families went to Jamaica to build a special playground called the "Z-Fortress".
For 9 days the families entertained the orphans and worked on the "Z-Fortress". Many of the kids just couldn't wait for the playground to be completed.
"They'd be at the fence, just waiting to get on the playground".
When finished, the workers joined hands and formed a tunnel for the kids to run through to get to their new playground.
The Z-foundation does a number of local outreaches and is always looking for volunteers. For more information visit www.z-foundation.org.
