A suspect was still at large late Monday night after a robbery at a Dollar General store in West Knoxville, according to Knoxville police.

Officers responded to the store at 1800 Middlebrook Pike at 8:47 p.m.

They interviewed a cashier at the store who said a man came into the store just before closing and bought a bag of potato chips.

But when the cashier opened the register, the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the cash tray and removed the money.

The cashier said the suspect then fled toward Western Ave. on foot.

The suspect was described as a black male with short dreadlocks, a goatee and an unshaven face. He was about six feet tall and 190 lbs., and was wearing a black hooded jacket, a white shirt, blue sweat pants, and black shoes.

Anyone with information should call (865) 215-7212.
