Troopers said one of the people killed in a high-speed, head-on crash was a 12-year-old boy. It happened late Saturday night on Maynardville Highway near the intersection of Quarry Road in north Knox County.
Troopers said Jeremy Miles, 12, was riding with Karen Miles, 39, of Luttrell when a car from the opposite lane hit them head-on. Both were killed in the wreck. The other car's driver, 34-year-old Frankie Langley, also died. Two other passengers in Miles' vehicle were injured. One was airlifted to a hospital by Lifestar. Their conditions are unknown.
