Knoxville family escapes but firefighter is injured in house fire

Investigators are looking into what started a house fire Tuesday night.

The fire was reported just before 9:00pm Tuesday night on Virginia Avenue in Lonsdale.

Firefighters say it started in a front bedroom.

The woman, a 10 year old boy and a 3 year old girl were inside at the time but made it out safely.

But according to a KFD spokesperson, one firefighter was injured. Captain Robert Roche is at Ft. Sanders Hospital undergoing a stress test for his heart.
