The woman charged with the murder of a Monroe County election official says she was coerced into confessing to the crime.
According to court paperwork, attorney John Eldridge says his client, Jessica Kennedy, has mental health issues and made a "false confession" after her arrest.
Kennedy is charged in the death of Monroe County Election Commission Chairman Jim Miller of Madisonville. Miller's body was found in the trunk of his burning car in July 2010. Kennedy was charged in January 2011.
A hearing about the issue is set for May 2. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 21.
