It's been open for nearly a month, but Wednesday Oak Ridge officially opened the fourth phase of a popular trail.
The Melton Lake Greenway is a five mile trial adjacent to Edgemoor Road, linking the Oak Ridge and Pellissippi Greenway systems.
City Manager Mark Watson says the greenway is a great way for people to stay active.
"I think it'll get a lot of activity because people have a nice parking area, they're able to get out and just enjoy the elements. This is gonna be beautiful in the fall, too, because the trail goes right up next to the trees and it should be quite exhilirating," said Watson.
A $552,000 dollar grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation helped fund the course.
