Sevier County quarterback Luke Manning has won both of the Offensive Player of the Week awards that have been handed out this season.

This week, teammate Dillon Cate completed the sweep for the Smoky Bears, winning the Defensive Player of the Week.

Sevier County opened the season with wins over William Blount and Halls.

Manning completed 13-of-15 passes for 260 yards and five touchdowns against the Red Devils. After winning a three-way battle for the starting job, the junior is 31-of-36 for 551 yards and ten touchdowns on the season.

Cate made two tackles, intercepted a pass and blocked a punt against Halls. The senior also plays wide receiver for the Smoky Bears and has signed to play baseball at East Tennessee State next year.

Sevier County will be tested on Friday when it opens up district play on the road at Jefferson County.
