The law allows law enforcement to seek search warrants for a blood sample if a person arrested for driving under the influence refuses to consent to one
It will no doubt be a busy holiday weekend for people traveling and attending Labor Day weekend parties, and a couple counties in East Tennessee will be cracking down on drunk driving.
Roane, Campbell and Jefferson counties will add patrols on Labor Day weekend to enforce the state's new "no refusal" law.
The law took effect in July. It allows authorities to get a search warrant for a blood sample, even if the driver refuses to take a breathalyzer test.
In total, 16 counties state-wide will be participating this weekend.
