Knox County leaders held a reception for outgoing Law Director Joe Jarret on Friday.

Jarret lost the Republican primary to local attorney Bud Armstrong in March. He resigned after the primary, but then agreed to serve until his successor takes office.

Armstrong will be sworn in Tuesday morning after the Labor Day holiday.

Knox County Clerk Foster Arnett hosted the good-bye reception for Jarrett.

Jarrett says it's been an honor to serve Knox County, and he hopes to enjoy some down time before he makes his next career move.

Knox County's swearing-in ceremony is set for 9 o'clock Tuesday morning inside the City-County building.
