Monday afternoon, 10News caught up with Representative Joe Armstrong, who will serve as a delegate at the Democratic National Convention this week. He represents Knoxville in the state House.
Representative Armstrong told us almost 100 people from Tennessee will play an active role in this week's convention. He hopes it will give voters an idea of what the party is all about.
"I think this Democratic convention will draw people back to the party realizing we're getting back to the basics. We are a party working for middle class families and we care about the next generation, our students, and to make sure they have opportunities. I think this is going to identify us and define us," he said.
The convention kicks off Tuesday.
