The numbers are in from the Knoxville Police Department's holiday traffic enforcement campaign. KPD holiday enforcement ran between 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31 and midnight on Monday, September 3.
During the campaign, 1,894 driving related citations were issued.
- 29 DUI citations were issued.
- 131 citations were issued for not wearing a seat belt.
- 172 citations were issued for not being properly licensed.
Officers also responded to 74 crashes, 15 of which resulted in injuries. No fatalities were recorded over the weekend.
