A motel near downtown Knoxville is shut down, in the latest nuisance closure by local authorities.
The District Attorney General's Office and Knoxville Police officers served a nuisance injunction at the Royal Inn and Suites on Ailor Avenue Thursday.
Authorities say undercover officers made several cocaine buys inside the motel, and KPD officers have responded to more than 200 reports of criminal activity there in the past two years.
In addition to those activities, authorities say the motel's owners and managers acted as lookouts for the drug dealers and warned them of police activities and investigations.
The owners have the right to a hearing within five days.
