Tennessee tourism is seeing a big boost, according to State Department of Tourism development commissioner Susan Whitaker.
She was in Knoxville Thursday speaking at the Greater Knoxville Hospitality Association Luncheon.
At the event, Whitaker said some new research shows Tennessee is viewed as one of the top spots in the country to have a vacation. She says participants in a study picked only Florida and California above Tennessee for vacation destinations.
And we still have two big seasons still ahead for this year.
"We've had a fantastic 2012 already and we know we've got another big fall and Christmas season ahead of us, which always promises to be huge," said Whitaker.
She says Tennessee's tourism committee will release a new marketing campaign later this month.
