Plans could be in the works soon to give the historic Knoxville High School building a new future.
The Knox County school board has accepted several letters of interest from developers looking into buying the building and re-developing it.
The developers who responded have proposed turning the building into apartments, mixed commercial and residential units, or affordable senior housing.
The building currently houses Knox County Schools' GED and adult education programs, the Knoxville City Federal Credit Union, the Knox County Museum of Education and some administrative offices and storage.
The former school is included on Knox Heritage's Fragile 15 list.
