MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis Fire Department officials are asking for community help as they investigate five fires that were set in vacant houses within two hours.
Three of the fires Monday morning were on McMillan Street, including two set at adjacent structures.
Fire inspectors determined all of the blazes were intentionally set.
Lt. Wayne Cooke said homes that are abandoned and not secured predictably decay because of aging, weather conditions, vagrants and illegal activities.
Tips on the fires should be called to Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
