Ten years after its inception, Dandridge is finally set to open the new Field of Dreams Activities Center.
The nearly 50,000 square foot facility is the newest addition to the Field of Dreams complex.
It houses two full basketball courts, a fitness room, free weights and workout equipment, elliptical machines and treadmills, even a volleyball court.
Town Administrator Bryan McCarter says the center's impact will be wide-reaching.
"This is huge for our community. We have a lot of recreation opportunities around here for folks within the town of Dandridge, but in addition to the recreation aspects, we plan on hosting many different events from our Bassmaster tournaments here, to different shows. So this is going to not only be an impact for our citizens, but an economic impact for our community," he said.
The center will host an open house this Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
