Officials with the City of Knoxville and Knox County joined forces Tuesday to answer questions in one South Knoxville community.

Residents submitted questions to the panel made up of representatives from both the city and county, as well as officials with KUB and MPC. The type of questions ranged from road conditions to vacant properties.

Organizers say the forum was informative, and gave the public a better idea on the processes that local government must go through.

"I think the people learn more about the difficulties that the public officials have by doing the real job, in having people come and explain why something isn't happening, or why it will happen, but takes a great deal of time," said Joe Harrison with the South Knoxville Residents Advisory Board.

Around 50 people attended the meeting.
