The cafeteria at Vine Middle Magnet Academy has a new look.

On Monday morning, Congressman Jimmy Duncan and the superintendent of Knox County Schools, Dr. Jim McIntyre, cut the ribbon on the remodeled cafeteria.

Dr. McIntyre hopes the renovated lunch room will create a better dining experience for students.

"Making sure that a student has a healthy nutritious lunch and even breakfast can really make a difference in terms of a student's ability to focus in the classroom, to really make sure their focus is on their schoolwork, to make sure their focus is on learning," he said.

A live band added more excitement to the celebration. The lunch room makeover was in honor of National School Lunch Week.
