The Centers for Disease Control has confirmed another person is sick with fungal meningitis in the U.S.

The meningitis outbreak has reached to 16 states. Nationally there are 285 confirmed cases, which is up just one from yesterday. A total of 23 people have died from the outbreak, and nine of those deaths were in Tennessee.

Yesterday the CDC confirmed the outbreak killed one more person and sickened another in Tennessee.

Tennessee has the most confirmed number of cases than any other state with 69 in total. There have been no new cases over the past 24 hours in that state.

A steroid epidural injection manufactured by the New England Compounding Center is believed to be the cause of this outbreak.
