Hundreds of runners braved the cold and rain to race in the "Pilot CrossKnox" 10 mile run and 4 mile walk on Saturday.
The race kicked off in Morningside Park in East Knoxville. After ten miles, runners crossed the finish line at Bearden Elementary in West Knoxville.
Around 350 runners participated in the sixth annual run this year.
The City of Knoxville and the Knoxville Track Club organized the race. One organizer Kristy Altman said it was a great way to show off some different running routes.
"It's important because it's a really good way to showcase our greenway system. There are unimaginable amount of greenways that we have here," said Altman. "And we're very fortunate in this area that we have so many places that we can go and run. What it does is it shows people different areas that may be out of their comfort zones."
The course followed seven different greenways. Altman says the race continues to grow every year, with more people running this year compared to last.
