Superstorm Sandy is not stopping one East Tennessee man from running in Sunday's New York City Marathon.

Thursday, crews were out putting up the start and finish lines for the race, and many runners picked up their registration materials.

Knoxville Track Club member Doug Young will head to New York on Friday. He says he was almost forced to take the Megabus to New York, but will now fly since airports are back open. But he's worried about getting there, and getting enough rest before the race.

"If we're going to be delayed a lot getting from airports, we're going to have to do a lot more walking before the marathon than what we expected to do. Maybe not get as much time to rest before Sunday," he said.

Young says runners may have to walk more to get to the start of the race. Transportation is limited, with many New York subway stops still closed.

Young also says he expects there to be fewer racers because many people won't be able to get to New York.
