Chestnut Hill, MA (Sports Network) - Led by 21 points from Siyani Chambers,
the Harvard Crimson downed the Boston College Eagles, 79-63, in a cross-town
showdown at Conte Forum.
For the Crimson (4-3), Wesley Saunders added 18 points and Jonah Travis
chipped in with 14 points.
Ryan Anderson led all scorers with 23 points for the Eagles (3-5), while Joe
Rahon scored 12 points and Lonnie Jackson finished with 11 points.
Both teams shot well to open the contest. Boston College made 55.0 percent of
its field goal attempts in the first half. Harvard connected on 48.0 percent
from the field, including 3-of-7 from beyond the 3-point arc, as the
Crimson took a 31-29 lead into the break.
After halftime, the teams continued their strong shooting. The Eagles shot
60.9 percent from the floor, but only managed to make one of their eight 3-
point attempts. The Crimson shot 61.5 percent from the field, including
3-of-7 3-point attempts. The Crimson also had a 13-5 scoring advantage
from the free-throw line in the second half. A 15-1 run by Harvard early in
the second half gave the Crimson control of the game as it cruised to
victory, taking its fifth-straight from the Eagles.
Harvard converted 15 Boston College turnovers into 19 points. The Crimson had
a slight edge in points in the paint, 40-36.
