half.
Nearing the end of regulation, Eron Harris hit a 3-pointer for WVU to give it
a three-point lead with 16 seconds remaining. The Longhorns answered right
back as Holmes sank his shot from beyond the arc to tie the game with three
seconds left which led to a need for an overtime session.
The Mountaineers took the lead with 3:14 in overtime and never gave it back.
Up by two points with eight seconds left, Murray got a steal and was
immediately fouled by Sheldon McClellan, sending the Mountaineers' junior
center to the line at a critical situation. Murray delivered as he made both
free-throws to extend WVU's lead to four which sealed the deal.
WVU earned a 45-39 rebounding edge and its bench supplied 32 points to 20 by
the Longhorns' reserves.
