Emily and Katie Benton, two sisters from Knoxville, are back in the United States after being injured in the London terrorist bombings.

According to Duke University Medical Center, the women arrived in North Carolina around 1:00pm Sunday afternoon.

The Benton sisters were in ICU as of Monday night. Doctors operated on both of them Monday. They say the intensive care unit is just a precaution, so they can watch the women closely.

The Bentons, ages 20 and 21, had been receiving treatment at London's Charing Cross Hospital following the terror attacks on Thursday.

Doctors say they were on a London subway car for about a minute when a bomb exploded ten feet from them.

The sisters were traveling for a week together, and Thursday was the first day of their vacation.

After the attacks, their mother went to London, but their father saw them for the first time when they got to Duke. Now, they are by her side at Duke University Medical Center.
