
The Tennessee Vols snapped an eight game losing streak to Kentucky by getting just their fourth win ever in Rupp Arena, 75-67.
Kentucky native Chris Lofton led the way, scoring a career high 31 points, hitting 11 of his 18 shots including 7 of 10 from the three point line.
Major Wingate added 12 points and C. J. Watson had 10 with four assists and three steals. Andre Patterson had just four points, but pulled down 10 rebounds as the Vols outrebounded the taller 'Cats 38-36.
Tennessee wasted a 10 point first half advantage, and led just 39-36 at the break. Kentucky took its last lead of the game at 65-64 before the Vols went on a 9-0 run to put the game away.
Tennessee is now 17-3, 8-1 in the SEC and a half game ahead of LSU in the conference race. The Vols lead the East by a game and a half over Florida.
Tennessee travels to Georgia on Saturday.
