UPDATE: Charges are filed in a Roane County murder.

A domestic dispute ended with one man dead, one in custody and a woman in the hospital. It was a series of crimes that spanned several East Tennessee counties.

It started in Roane County. Deputies were called to a home east of Kingston to find 22-year-old David Midkiff stabbed several times.

Deputies say Apollo Nichols and his girlfriend, Lina Trujillo, then left the scene and went to Anderson County.

Deputies believe Nichols stabbed Trujillo and ran over her leg with his car at his family's home in Claxton. She was transported to UT Medical Center and has since been released.

Nichols was later arrested at Peninsula Hospital in Blount County and is now being questioned. He has been charged with second degree murder and aggravated domestic assault out of Roane County.
