The man who pulled a gun on a Knox County commissioner is charged with murder.
Late Tuesday afternoon, a grand jury indicted 19 year-old Kane Stackhouse with the murder of 53 year-old David Lindsey.
Lindsey was shot and killed at a Walgreen's in Powell earlier this month.
Stackhouse is also charged with especially aggravated robbery after officers say he pulled a gun on Commissioner Greg "Lumpy" Lambert at his car dealership about ten hours after the murder.
But Lambert says a he was armed and quicker on the draw.
"He said he didn't want any trouble, that he just wanted to leave. I said he was not going to leave with his gun. This man is obviously pulling a gun on people, he's not, the rest of society out there was not safe as long as he was carrying this weapon. So I made him drop his weapon. And told him to get out of there and prepare to be arrested that our good sheriff's department would catch up with him, which they did about 12 hours later," said Lambert. Lambert says he did not have time to get scared, until later.
"When they told me, it's loaded, there's one in the pipe, meaning there was a round chamber, and it was cocked, that was a bit chilling knowing that that was a loaded weapon that was pointed at me. Can I assume he was going to leave me alive, well if he is the one, then his past actions would have shown he does not leave his victims alive. I'm just a very lucky, chubby little used car salesman and commissioner, very thankful and lucky to be alive," said Lambert.
Just hours before the incident involving Lambert, David Lindsey was found at a Walgreen's about a mile and a half away from Lambert's business, unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds. Lindsey later died at UT Medical Center.
"I certainly hope if he is the one who murdered the other man that he will see justice and that the family will see closure on the matter," said Lambert.
Stackhouse is being held at the Knox County Jail. His bond is set at $500,000.
